I bought this today. It has the 307 Oldsmobile V8 and 700r4. My next project when I get the 85 C10 up and running.

Really like these alot. All through high school, one of my best friend's dad owned an apartment building in Phoenix. 2-3x a year they would fly out and both drive a Caprice (sedan or wagon) back and flip it. Either one of these or a mid 80s Riviera (another favorite).

Great cars - full frames and so easy to work on.

Ooooh, another B Body in the house. That’s what I’d say. Someone else might say dat muhfuh box clean. And they would be correct. Only suggestion I can offer is don’t believe the negative press on the E4ME. They’re as good as any M-Quadrajet when they’re working correctly.

It should be a 200R4. No BOP bolt pattern 700R4. When the B wagons went to the Olds 307 in early '86, no more Chevy powered wagons or 700s until the new body.

I thought the same thing. That 200-4R combined with the 2.56 rear, the E4ME, and just the 307 in general would probably make this one of the most highway-friendly full sized cars ever.

I just learned something...I never knew they put Olds 307's in Caprice Wagons. How did they compare with Chevy 305's?

They make 305s look better.

My wife's first car was an '83 Olds Delta 88 2 door. It had the 307 in it, but she didn't have it very long after we started dating...got a Monte Carlo instead. I really don't remember if I ever even drove it. I do remember it seemed rather...grandma'ish'.

It's possible, I didn't look under the car, just assumed it was a 700r4.

Local guy has one with all the chrome shaved off, matt silver, nice tires and wheels. He hauls his dalmations around in it.
