I need motor mount frame brackets (the pieces that bolt to the frame on either side of the motor) from a 3/4 ton 4wd 88-91 suburban with a 454. I bought a set that came off a pickup truck, and they do not fit my suburban frame. Best I can tell, I need the ones specific to what I just described. Oh, and I need them yesterday! Can anyone help?!

You'll have to try the brackets from an R2500. 88-91 V2500s never came with a 7.4, only the LO5 small block or diesel engines could be ordered on the 4x4s.

Apparently some of the 4WD/V series from 87-91 did come equipped with a 454. The part numbers for the halves of the engine mount brackets - the ones specific to the 454 -that bolt to the frame are :

L/R 14032979 & 14032980

Unfortunately, while they may have been available as spare parts in the 80's, they aren't available anywhere, anymore, at any price.

Get some one to fabricate you a set or just hit the junkyards.

This is the information that I found. Thank you for verifying.

I am trying to retrofit the ORD motor mount and cross member kit into my R2500 that was converted to 4wd by the previous owner. The original 2wd motor mount brackets are still in the truck, and they are a completely different style of bracket, so I need to convert to the 4wd style brackets. ORD says the kit is compatible with small blocks, big blocks, and 6.2s.

I have had a heck of a time trying to locate these brackets for a 2500 4wd burb with 454. But I have found quite a few with the 350. Would the brackets for a 350 work, as long as it is from the 2500 frame?

Interesting find chengny. I looked through the GM Heritage archives before posting and there's no option regarding 4wd/454 combos. So the question is, does anybody have one that's numbers matching from the factory?

I notice that list covers K & V series vehicles. The archives I looked at were specific to V-series Suburbans. So was the 454 an option in the K-series for 85-86?

No longer in need of these brackets. I found out that the 2wd frame dimensions are different than the 4wd frame dimensions where the motor mounts go, so I have begun modifying the set of brackets I already have.

Although the post is old I thought I'd update it. Only 1 ton 4WD trucks had the 454 option from 81-91. They also have a unique fuel pump that is shorter than the 2WD version. Napa part is wrong now too. Federal-Mogul used to supply the correct one for Napa. Carter is producing them for Napa and is supplying the pump on the right that is wrong.
