87 R10 tank and pump for 82 C10 with EFI

Just want to confirm that I can install an 87 R10 tank and pump in my 82 C10, and that the pump will work with the new EFI units, such as Holley Sniper, FiTech, etc.

Also, I see where there are 16 gal and 20 gal tanks available. Will either one fit on the driver's side of my 82 C10 without any mods?

I realize I will have to run a return line, since the 250 six originally in my truck didn't use one.

The 16 gal tank id for dual tanks. The stock pumps will only support low pressure throttle body injection. Looking at the Holley site, the sniper needs almost 60 PSI, so you will need a bigger pump. Seems like a lot of people are using Walbro 225lph pumps. I'm going with with 400s for my LS conversion. You will also need the EFI sending unit. The 400 pumps will not plug into the factory connector so you will need the install kit if you go with them. Don't know about the connectors on the 255.

I believe the 16 gallon tank is for a SWB truck, and the 20 is for a LWB truck. I also think that you can use 16 gallon tanks where 20s were on a LWB truck but not vice versa.

Thanks for the info on fuel tank size and the pump. I now see where the TBI pump is around 13 psi. I guess the article I read a while back was for adding factory TBI to an earlier carbureted truck.

This project is not yet on the front burner, but I'm trying to get my ducks in a row.

I have a 92 with a fitech 1200 power adder. I used an aeromotive 90psi pump with factory return line on my big block. Pump went in factory location. Had to eliminate factory wire connector but that was no problem.
