I've replaced my cruise/wiper switch to try and get my cruise working. I've ordered 2 switches now from 2 different sellers, and both are a tiny bit different than my stock switch. One seller lists it for my truck, the other say's it won't fit it, but they both share all the same other vehicle apllications listed on their charts. I cannot imagine GM making several variety of these switches in that era, as most things were pretty similar. Anyway, when the new switch is inserted into the column turn signal mechanism, there is a slight gap between the switches portion of the stalk, and the chrome part that seats into column switch and turns all the functions on & off. The metal bayonet portion of the new switches, both look ever-so-slightly different than my original switch, both having a small extended shoulder at the base of the metal bayonet, right as it protrudes from the chrome plastic portion that seats into the column switch. All my functions are a bit off also, but that could be because the delay wiper module may be malfunctioning, as it had worked correctly before I swapped these levers out. I've found other cc switches for sale that list my '87 V20 specifically, but they look the same as the others in the listing photo's. I've attached photo's to try to show what I'm up against, one has to look closely for the subtle differences I'm babbling about. Old switch pic's are obvious. I'm trying to get this corrected without having to keep sending switches back! Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

unfortunately the gap is normal- at least I never found one without it. Also my functions were slightly off and got worse- turned out the wiper switch-(inside the column) was the problem (it was wearing out where the stalk pushed into it). I replaced the wiper switch and everything lined up correctly. Replacing the wiper switch also fixed my wiper delay that I assumed was a bad delay module.
