87 C10 Hood Latch problem

Ive got a problem, my 87 C10 hood cable is stuck, when you pull on the handle on the inside it wont move or anything, is there any way i can get the hood to open since the cable is doin nothing.

Here are some pics for latch mechanism reference. Like mentioned in that link by chengny, you might have to drill that hole, or get lucky with a coat hanger like others mentioned.

2" x 1/4" flat stock. Gently pry up the front of the hood, just enough to sneak a 13mm socket on there, and ubolt the latch from the core support.
