Woohoo! Got the taxes in and ordered a butt load of parts. Time to get started on this thing! Again I'll be prepping the engine on a test stand prior to install.

I've got to run fuel line, install tank/sender/pump (rear burb tank mod), mod the tail light for fuel filler before I even attempt to install it. Still gonna be a few months, but at least we have the majority of the parts I needed ordered.

Got the dingo's in today. Kudo's to them shipping fast, I went with them standard shipping. I ordered them Friday. They beat everything else!

Anyway, the test stand I bought (el' cheapo) was built for a 350. Hole on each side, wollering out the back holes, and flipping the dingo's and she'll be mounted. It would be easier if I had a welder and knew how to use it with a bit of metal laying around. I'll finish it up tomorrow and post a pic.

Got the new starter in yesterday. I'll have to take that side of the test stand apart to see if it will fit.

[update] word to the wise, put the starter on the engine before putting it on a $25 test stand. No modifying needed.

I'm not liking the cheap wire loom for my harness. Not that there's anything done with it, just I want to do something different. I've got some on hand, just don't want to. I've also got some mesh wire loom but I would have to DE-pin everything. Would look awesome but I can't imagine how much time it would take.

I tried spliting the mesh with a hot blade but it would be just as time consuming as De-pining. I made a jig and everything to split/melt/seal it so it wouldn't come apart.

Back to the drawing board before I suck it up and go plain wire loom. I may play with aluminum tubing. Split it and try bending it. I guess I could just get the engine in there and mock up some stuff for the bits I can't hide under other stuff.

Note to all doing their own harness.......label the wires as you take them off the engine! Nobody has a good picture of all the plugs! Not that I could find anyway. Might have to take pics of each and upload.

Now to research if I need a cruise control module or not on a 2006 truck engine.

[edit] looks as if the TAC and PCM does it for you, no controller needed. Dakota Digitals kit threw me off....but I guess they build for those that don't have switches already? LOL why the controller then. Dunno. All drive by wire have a TAC right?

After getting the bolt out of the head, the pulley back on the power steering pump, I thought it was time to set the engine with stand on the floor. The legs on the lift thought otherwise, there wasn't room between them for the stand to get to the ground. I ended up setting the engine/stand on big blocks, the wrapped a chain around my stainless surgical table that raises/lowers to get it to the ground. Was worried it wouldn't hold the weight. I never heard it complain lol.

During a yard sale we were having, someone asked how much for it. I told them $300 and they frowned.

Thanks HR. I got 100' of pink wire to eliminate some more wire from the harness today.

The 98 windstar fan has been on order with Amazon for 6 weeks. After 4 weeks I cancelled that order assuming none in stock. Re-ordered from another vendor on Amazon, cancelled 2 hrs later. Again assuming out of stock. Ordered again from a 3rd vendor and it has supposedly shipped. This damn fan better work on my radiator lol...craps really buggin' me.

Now to find relays I'm happy with (~70 amp) that aren't $25 each, but still Bosch/Tyco, Omron, Delphi, or other big name. Not going with the cheap crap on cooling control, but I do have a budget. LOL maybe I'm just a tight ***.
