Hey everyone!
Bought myself a squarebody shitbox in the middle of last year. 86 gmc longbed 4x4, 4.3, sm465.
The body is both beat and needing rehab like a crack-*****.. but she's got a mint frame! Rare find for a truck that's spent 36 years in the rust belt.
The GOOD panels on the truck are the firewall, back of cab, and roof.. I suppose the bed floor is ok..everything else is jacked. The glass is all super nice though!
Since the entire front end needs replacing I'm going with the better looking 73-80 bits. Already got two new fenders along with a hood & hinges.. should be getting the rest of it in a few weeks.
I'll probably be making it a flatbed instead of trying to fix the factory one.
Truck will be used to cruise around in occasionally, and take wheeling.
Goals for this year:
Fix cab, swap front end, 52" spring swap, shackle flip, 35"s.. probably get it to quit leaking assorted fluids.. I'll stay reasonable and stop there lol.. trying to buy a house this year as well.
The end goal is a humble 7/10 resto job were not afraid to feed the corn to.
