My ‘84 K1500 (305 with Edelbrock 1406, SM465 transmission.) stalls out when slowing down from highway speeds. The idle is set pretty fast, even with the adjustment screw at its lowest setting. The only way to make it keep running at a red light or stop sign is to keep your foot in the accelerator. Any ideas where I should look first? Thanks.

Intake or carb gasket leak, maybe vacuum leak more than likely

What's the choke setup? Check on that.

Is it coming off all the way? Adjusted properly? Depending on driving and starting procedure, you could have a high idle because you're on the fast idle cam if the choke doesn't come off all the way. Then after driving it comes off and you don't have enough mechanical idle to run while stopped.

Electric choke. I have the 12 volt wire hooked up to the windshield wiper circuit. I will double check it’s adjustment.

Update: It looks like the choke adjustment isn’t even close to being correct. I’ll toy with that some and see what happens.

Usually with wonky idles and drivability the choke is the culprit.
