The clutch is backwards?
I don't think a t-56 is gonna play well with BBC torque, but good luck trying!

The current T56 is rated for 700 foot pounds of torque in stock form. Pretty sure that covers 99% of the BBC out there. There are companies that bring that up to 1000+ ft lbs as well.

Most of the TT guys with 1500-2000hp run T56's. If you aren't doing heavy launches, it will live forever.

Quicktime makes a bellhousing and plenty of clutch/ flywheel kits out there.

Also, this revived thread is 4 years old so I hope the OP figured it out by now.

The LT1 style clutch was a pull type rather than push type, but that's no big deal. The hydraulic slave is activated the same way as anything else. It takes a special flywheel, that was only used behind behind a neutral balance small block with 1-piece rear main. Aftermarket flywheels are available to run it behind an older SBC/BBC, neutral balance or weighted.

Even the earlier (and weaker) models are capable of handling the torque of a stock BBC in a street car or truck.
