First thing is the frame resto. I spent all my free time this summer tearing the body off of the K20 and sent it to the scrap yard. Now i need to prep the frame.
Here is what i'm dealing with. It looks really rough but it actually cleans up quite well. I am using a chisel and hammer and grinder with a flap wheel right now but once i get it in the garage i am replacing the hammer and chisel with a Needle Scaler.

It seems as there is some sort of rubber coating that is flaking off this frame. I was thinking some sort of Undercoating?

Here's the 82 C20 that i am going to use for the body. This thing's mint. Not a spot of rust on it as i got it from an old guy from alberta who used it to haul a camper around during the summer.

Yup! It's gonna be alot of work but its been going good so far. I'm going to get it into the garage this coming week. Going to install a 4 inch lift on it and im gonna need to replace a bunch of frame rivets with bolts.

Some spots on the frame actually still have the original paint underneath the undercoating. Other parts are rusted right through the paint and some spots are getting pretty thin.

Here's the other end of the operation. The motor is a 350 with a 4 Bolt main and the trans and transfer case is a Turbo 400 coupled to a NP208 Transfer case

Here's where the project is going to live for the winter. Have to give a shout out to my dad for putting up with all the sleds, truck parts and motor parts that always seem to end up inside the garage :)

I would love to have a son that filled my garage with projects, I would be proud. I'm all alone in my garage. My girls are growing up and getting less interested in that type of stuff. :(

I got to give you credit for doing that out in the snow like that. Determination. :)
