Some times when covering things, a thin sealer coat helps.
I'm not real sure that was the cause as the hood was done the same and no issues, plus roof was fine on the metal areas. It was really weird, never saw it or had it happen

How clean was the surface? Filler can stay "chalky" even after cleaning it a few times. If it stuck to the metal but not filler I would think it might have had something to do with that (same with painting freshly sanded joint compound on walls in the house, even if you're sure you got it clean sometimes it will still peel on the areas that were mudded but not on the sheetrock itself). Or possibly the filler was still slightly damp from cleaning as it's kind of porous especially if you used the lightweight stuff.

oh yea always use lightweight, this time from usc, special lite to be exact, it's weird because I've used this filler and this primer before. My one thought is the last coat I had to use a lil reducer for the hb primer, thinking it went all the way through.

I'm thinking of buying myself some spi or other dtm high build, ad skip the epoxy first then hb, try and get it all in one.

oh yea forgot to update, got this stripped off, cleaned, and then recoated, light coats and not as many, worked fine. I only did 1 hb coat and 2 epoxy. Mostly 1 hb because I ran out but its enough for now. I then pulled it out of the garage and parked it under the carport, most likely for the entire winter.

I had to do something with them new doors on dad's 84 so we're back on it now...

Those rear rims in the "before pictures" are interesting. My friend in high school, back in the early eighties, had those on his '74 Z28. Also the aftermarket sun-roof is very nostalgic. Not many of those left.

those were the 7 inc wide reversed offset cragars from dad's 84 and these are knock offs lol. I do miss the deep dish. The sunroof was a half to since the roof was so jacked, that or another roof.

Never heard them called that. Makes perfect sence though.

it's been a bit, tied up on the engine sap from this to the 86 gmc and carb issues, did some on dad's too but finally here's something on this, paint sneak peak, rest is not ready/nor done.
