79 k10 bed weight

I was looking at model weights at the GM Heritage site, but couldn't find a cab/chassis model weight. If you could find that info and compare it to a standard pickup weight is would answer the question. I think.
When I pulled the sides off my short box they were heavy but I could carry one around, so maybe 80 pounds each. I never tried to pick up the bed floor but I moved it around a lot and can pick up one side with the front panel easily .... so might be 120-150 lbs.
My guess is 280-310...........What do I win?

Thanks to everyone for the tremendous response.
I am sure there are different weights for different years as GM started shaving lbs on the truck models during this era in order to comply with mpg and emissions regulations.
I think I will put my bed on my trailer and scale it.
Will post the result.

Yes, I know this. But it's large and awkward, having a couple more buddies helping is much safer. No risk of cab damage, bed damage, or bodily harm. Hernias and hemroids suck.
And even a skinny guy like myself can lift a bed over on it's side or on it's end. I don't recommend it though.
I'm still sticking with my original estimate of 450-475 pounds. I'm eager to see what the scale says.

I completely agree more help is much better all around. I just think you're weight estimate is way heavy... but maybe not. A guy can carry a good load
at crotch height with arms straight, holding on under the fender wells. Yesterday I helped a friend move one... it was on the ground and kinda frozen down with a few inches of ice inside. We used two 10' 2x4s to lever it off the ground, and even though we shoveled out most of the snow we were both cutting washers moving it just a few feet. Mind you, it had frozen dirt stuck to the bottom and there was still ice inside. But it was all of 400 lbs I'm sure. It will be interesting to learn THE TRUTH... which I wouldn't be surprised that an early 70's box weighs more than an '80s box.
I'm sure they weigh more than the box in a current model, except maybe the new GM with the multi gay tailgate... the $10K tailgate probably doubles the heft of the box (6').

I'm in at 350 ish. Having disassembled a couple of long beds in the last couple years, and thereby creating the need to carry and move the parts to storage, I'd say around 75-90lbs for the sides, a buck and a half for the floor, and the balance for the wheel wells and bed front.

Really though, we are all pretty close in what we think the weight is. Even a 200 pound difference, the truck isn't going to care in the slightest amount. We are talking the weight of a single passenger here.
