1980 was a 1-year only chromed grill. What your tag refers to is the stainless bar equipped grill...they just refer to it as chromed.

Yep, the grille that came with the truck didn't have the stainless pieces in the middle. I'd guess it was replaced back when a new grille was readily available.

I just realized my '79 GMC had the chromed grille originally. Must have got busted at some point, because when I got the truck, it had a damaged regular grille in it.

Also notice the YE9 with no Silverado description. Must have depended on the year/factory?

Who knows, probably a mistake. He said he ordered it.

Does yours have the wood grain interior trim?

I wish he had ordered sport mirrors but he specifically bought the truck to pull a black jet boat. I may or may not put them on at paint.

Aluminum trim as it's a '79. '77 was the final year for the woodgrain, and the only year for that specific wood finish too.

Ah so its a different wood grain along the dash or doors?

Doors are in good shape, would like to redo the gauge cluster though.

Yeah, it's walnut grain I think. I don't know my wood types very well at all. It's obvious I'm not a carpenter or interior designer, lol. Iirc, '73-'74 shared a grain pattern and '75-'76 shared another. And one of those is much closer to the '77 walnut, but I don't remember which.

I bought that one off eBay. My 77 is cracked, looked like he hit a bird. Got it for $400.

So busy, just collecting parts for a few projects.

So do you no longer need a stainless trimmed grill?

So long story. I bought that one for my 77.

I’m buying a center GMC piece and using your chrome side pieces to restore the original grill that has some damage.

Otherwise it will get thrown in a box and forgotten. Ie trash.

Would like to save as much stuff as possible. If I need a backup I have it or I can sell it one day. Better than landfill.

Price and availability, please? If you still have one? I don't care stainless or not.
