Is this truck a square?? Anyway, working on one that ain't working, have never worked on one before. Guess as these old things get older new older things go to breaking??

Found and repaired all the wiring from the gear shift switch to the firewall then back to the rear end. Have 12 volts back there, grounds are clean and grounding. Getting nothing out of the deally what changes the gears (possible wiring problem back in that itty bitty area where the wires disappear?) Ohm the wires going to that it bounces from 270 to 320.... green wire to ground ohms about 130?

My biggest questions are
1. is that deal a motor or solinoid?
2. any thing important going to fly out, fall down in the pumpkin when I take it off?

Thanks guys

Shakey

I don't know sh*t about 2 speed rear ends, but here's an Eaton #16244 with an electric shift for an '83 C70. Maybe this will help your search

Yes sir, I do appreciate it! Appears to be exactally what I'm working on. Looks like this is going to be a put a wrench to it and see what happens. Truck is full of seed wheat now so will just run it in what ever gear it's in till the seed is sewn.
