Are mostly all edelbrock G- brackets kinda the same? Im not sure what model my carb is. I was told a 750 cfm but that's about it. I know that have a few 750's but would the bracket b e the same? Maybe I should just grab the geo-bracket and mounting bracket just to be safe? They look pretty lvl with eachother in the photo.

I don't believe that is meant for a 700 because they make a bracket for the 700, and the bottom of the bracket bolts to where that stud is, I'd say that's for a 350 cable..

Is there some kind of other adjustment on the carb thst could be too tight causing the cable locking mechanism to keep stripping? Could the plunger on the tranny cause this? My gas peddle is really tight and not because of a heavy return spring or whatever its called.

After looking at you setup it seems like your setup is not right.
This is what you need. The cable bracket and carb bracket. No need to end up back at square one due to bad geometry.

Might try this out if you can't keep your cable locked in place.

I was actually telling a buddy I was going to try this trick. Lol good call... Well I hope. As long as its in place all the shift points are good. I just have to be gentle on the gas. I just really dnt want to pay for another tranny.

Just make sure the 1,2,3 shift points are spaced out at least 10-15miles an hr and the shifts are firm. Harder to mess up if shift points are spaced out, but if they are back to back it won't last.

And there you have it. Didn't even need to adjust anything. Edelbrock cable mounting bracket and geometry corrector. Thank you guys for your help and replies. ! Heading over to the carb section now. Lol

A little later then it was. Something like 18mph (hard shift) well firm 40mph (softer shift) I think. Had a shift kit installed when I had the trans rebuilt. And the dude put a vette servo in as well. If that sounds right. I could be messing up what its called.

It's good. Just as long as he didn't mess with the muffler bearings. Lol

Can someone help me? I've got a 87 with the torque converter locking way to late at 45mph, but it skips from 3rd to locking the torque converter immediately after shifting into 4th. Even if I accelerate, it still won't down shift to 4th, but 3rd. It doesn't unlock until about 35mph, where it then skips 4th all together, down to 3rd. I just had it rebuilt entirely new with a shift kit. Its annoying to have to constantly shift the thing manualy while riding to town to get it to shift without nearly killing the engine.
