Where about on the bellhousing? I’ll check tomorrow when I put the reducers on and put some side pipes on it for now, I don’t know much about transmissions but this one is thrown me off the edge so far

On the passenger side up high. Crappy spot kinda. Be careful, I think they are white plastic unless someone has changed it. I have an R4 on the shop floor. I'll try to catch a shot.

Somewhat similar to a 400, I had a th400 in my c30 that that tube had broken off. I can check it. If that’s clogged would it cause the trans issue? On the th400 previous owner said it would deep fluid out the dipstick tube.

It was a while back but if I remember correctly he was having strange fill issues like what your having. Makes sense if it can't vent.

I can check it but I figured with a “fresh rebuild” it would be clean but who knows. If all else I’ve got this k1500 I can take the 700r4 out of and rebuild mine I just want this thing driving already. Going to put wheel arches and rockers on it when it’s driving

Never know. I've seen too many strange things to underestimate.

After sitting overnight the fluid is at the top of the s bend part of the dipstick tube. This has me currently stumped. Could the TV cable be too tight? It didn’t shift until I let off the throttle then it went into a gear, I don’t think second because it didn’t pull much. The fluid isn’t dark at all it looks brand new. Could I yank the tv cable and let it return a few times? I think I read that somewhere.

No, engine had not been started yet. I can go start it and see what happens?

fluid is always high when it isn't running bc it all drains out of the converter and sits in the pan

What are some things I can do to verify, for sure, this trans is shot. I’ve checked the governor gear it was fine. The TV cable could be too tight, I gave it a couple clicks more than it was when I got it because the cable had some sag in it. I will pull the tcase drain plug and see if fluid is swapping between them.

Have you verified the vent is clear?

I saw a little metal tube up top angled towards the rear of the vehicle, whag I could see of it was clean. The trans isn’t all grimy, I mean it’s clean. The pan looks aftermartket or something in my opinion. It’s got sort of a yellowish hint to it and I don’t think it’s steel. It has a crater near the front

Carefully put a vacuum hose on it and don't blow see if you can suck air through it. If it's plugged up it could explain allot.
