I posed that question to the seller Keith.
Were you the darren1 account that got flagged on there? They got your comment blocked and said the other vehicles these two Brothers owned had paperwork issues which is why they didn't go for what was expected at auction or smth.

Also rumor has it when the vehicles were auctioned cash was found stashed in the seats and body panels. Ok I went too far down this rabbit hole don't judge me

They do repop those window stickers...
For sure. I think the crux of the issue is all of the other vehicles sold at auction that were taken from the brothers had mileage discrepancies. The blazer that was a twin to this truck sold for $81k but the title said 80k miles and the truck showed 21 miles.

@TX87R10 Looking at it, the likes after the user name is the total likes, if you hover the mouse over it, it says "This author's likes:"

So its the total for all of their comments, then the thumbs up after the message is the likes on that specific comment. So all of those comments from yours and newer have one like.

Confused me at first.

Yeah I realized that and deleted my comment lol

I'm still looking in to why the users sporadically keep trying to pump up prices, the same users go around saying things like "let's get this to $100k" when they aren't bidding it's weird

Look at the user skyeyes they have pumped up several bids and bought vehicles for outrageous prices from this exact seller. They placed a way higher bid within minutes of the seller responding to my negative comment lol

It definitely is not the most intuitive way to do that, IMO. Not sure why they would make it so you have to hover over it to have it tell you that.

I would not at all doubt there is some under the table business that goes on.

I try to stay away from conspiracy theory's and tinfoil hats, but I read somewhere that these classic car auctions (BaT, Mecum, Barret Jackson, Etc) could be a great way to move and launder money, or artificially inflate values of specific vehicles, since like art, vehicles are worth what someone might deem it to be worth. Which speaking of art, and art sales, I'd bet that there must be a fair amount of that going on with art sales too.

Or could be someone with very deep pockets or wheeling and dealing elsewhere. If you look at their wins on their page they dropped over $100k in just the last two months. Crazy at any rate.

Yeah it's the only thing that makes sense. No one comes back and outbids their previous bid by $10k minutes after they just got outbid by $500.

Must be some sort of system where BAT is not charging them for "selling" each other cars at inflated values so that when real buyers come in they are the suckers who get scammed.

Really weird, I've not looked in to BAT too much but the more I look in to it the shadier it gets lol
