Hmm, not that I've heard of. Folks don't normally do that kind of crossbreeding. I'd bet it can be done though.

why. just why. By the time you buy all those little odds and ends to make that engine run you could buy a junkyard 6.2 and have a bolt in turd, instead of a total engine swap turd.

I have access to a trans and transfer case already i just need the motor. The 6.9/7.3 can out preform the 6.2 no problem. They dont have any computer so they are easy to get running. And a lot cheaper than a cummings.

My truck had a 6.2 from the factory but somone put a 454 in it at some point. When i got it the 454 had a dropped valve. I want to make it a deisel again but the 6.2\6.5 arent that good and the cummings is very expensive. I have a few friends with the 6.9\7.3 IDI and they are great.

Just because you have two things, doesn't mean you should put them together.

However, if you can make your mounts, you're 1/3 there. If you need a how to, or bolt in solution, just put the 7.3 up for sale and use the money to buy Chevy stuff, that does bolt in.

not saying anything bad about the 7.3idi because its not a bad motor. But the bottom line here is it not worth the time to swap a 7.3idi into anything. when there are so many better or easier options out there. Take jrgunn advice because there are millions of those idi trucks around with guys looking for parts. Sell those buy a cheap and reliable 6.2 or just drop a 350 in and go for a ride. Another option is spend 10x as money and put a cummins in. A lot more money. Ask me how I know lol
