6.5" speakers are just midbass which is non directional, which means they can be mounted anywhere in the cab however typically toward the front. You can mount them under the dash fired toward the floor or mount a single shallow 8 or 10 inch Kaption or similar in a box under the dash or seat so you're not hacking up your panels. Easy solution.

If I remember correctly, @Old77 had the best setup in his Suburban.

I’ll have to hunt down pics in my Burb build thread. It was a pretty good setup for sure

Here's how I put my system together, 6X9's facing out instead of in toward the seat with 6.5's in the center console. Also added a 4X10 in the center dash. The surround sound turned out great.

That looks fantastic! And gives me ideas for mine whenever I redo the interior. The plan all along has been buckets and a custom console

That indeed looks fantastic... Makes me wish I would have sourced some bucket seats for my build, too late now.

I absolutely love how you tied the speaker box into the B pillar trim

Thanks for the kind word's, making the templates for every thing to fit nice and tight was most of the work. I basically built the box and console out of card board first then used the car board as templates.I kept the side templates I made for the console if anyone would like a copy. I got the buckets out of a 1999 Suburban.
