I’m fixing to start restoring a 1983 suburban that’s been owned by my family for my entire life. I stumbled upon this engine/transmission/t-case/PCM/TCM/harness and just wanted some information on how difficult a swap this would be, as I haven’t been able to find much on this kind of swap anywhere online. Or if I should just look elsewhere into an older engine / 4l80 TIA

Not in a burb but I started one on my c10 to k10 build. The trans was hitting the firewall but that was due to other issues. The parts exist to make it nearly a drop in conversion.

I used-

Swaptime Harnesses- nice unit and great customer service. At the time they couldn’t control a 10sp so traded my trans to an 8sp.

Tejas steelworks trans crossmemeber

Motor mounts were a direct swap off the shelf parts, and found someone who made a set of manifolds for the swap. I bought a 4L60e for the swap that I ended up putting behind a small block and using a TCM to do it. That harness and parts cost me more than if I would have just kept on with the new engine instead. I used a transfer case from a 89/90 burb/blazer for the electronic speed control feature but in the end didn’t need to because I could have just used the Dakota digital setup to push the speed over to the trans which is what I ended up doing. If you don’t have Dakota digital gauges you will need the digital output on the transfer case.

I have not seen it done in a 4x4 yet but I've seen a couple 6.2/10L swaps in C10s. I would check out BP Harness for the harness, Tejas Steelworks probably makes some mounts (or they may be in the works) and then you just have to figure out how to adapt the Tcase, Advance Adapters would be my first call.
