I put a 6.2 into my 78 k10 with R4 , 3.73 gears and turbo from a 94 pickup and also 6.5 mechanical injection pump and she is very motivated and decent on fuel.

The cars came off the assembly line rusted out in Kansas. Speaking of which I ran across 2 real deal Impala SSs a 1965 and a 1967 they are so stripped and plenty of rust but real SS cars 1500.00 each IDK how firm he is. You would definitely have to have a beater 65,66 or 67 if any of you want to save one of them.
Is that a crew cab squarebody tow truck in the background of the 4th pic??

I enjoyed my 6.2. 17mpg in a 3/4 ton burb with 3.73s and a th400 was no joke. Pulled a large uhaul with no issues. Just no hp.
Could have used an overdrive and a turbo.
I finally bought a used banks kit, but lost the manifold when we bought this house.
If I can locate another turbo manifold for it I'd still drive it. Just don't expect to win any drag races with it!

6.2L turbo
I’ve got an 84 1/2t swb 4wd with a 6.2 with Banks turbo and 3.42s. I tried to buy the truck when it was new on the lot, not knowing a buddy had ordered it.
When I came home from the Army, my best friend had it, and about 10 years ago he gave it to me.
I consistently get 22-24 mph with a sm465 trans. I’m about to swap it to a 4L80 and turn it back into my daily.

The weak spot on the 6.2s is the harmonic balancer. Keep a check on it, change when see any signs of deterioration in the rubber, regular maintenance, and you are good to go.

As to the oil cooler lines (mentioned above) I removed my hard lines and ran braided line to an external oil cooler.

Though most try to compare them to modern diesel engines, they are decent engines and had the same power gas engines of their time had.
