I run a blend of premium 93 octane and Sunoco Standard which if I remember correctly is 110 octane.. Do I need to? Not really, but it's a toy that doesn't get driven much and I like the way it smells. Plus it actually helped crisp up the throttle response on the 'ol BBC! And not in the "I can feel it made a difference" but in the actual "you can tell it made a difference" sense! Lol

I'm fortunate enough to have a ethanol refinery locally, so I just use E85. In the summer when I'm driving alot, I'll go straight there and buy a full drum of E100.

Its hard to beat the tire melting capability of a big block, to make a 383 do they same you are going to have to compromise something, either stall to match the cam, drivability, or maintenance of a solid lifter cam.

It's really easy actually, a 400 dollar Chinese Turbo on a stock 4.8 with valvesprings will do rolling 50 mph burnouts lol.

Im familiar with a turbo ls, just has to be spun up to bring in the power, quick blip of the pedal and a proper big block turns tires over with easy.

My 65 had traction problems at the track lol.

Big blocks are cool, small blocks are cool, but if max performance for minimal money is the goal, you can't beat a junkyard Tahoe engine with a hairdryer.
