In regard to the rear brakes, many 3/4 ton trucks and Burbs had the same big brakes as the 1 ton trucks.

The one difference I found is that 3/4 tons have 13 x 3" rear brakes. My SRW 1- ton has 13 x 3.5". My D60 front axle also has a different caliper set up than both my K10/K20's I've had.

Is it possible to put the brakes off the Dana 60 on a Dana 44?

I would imagine the bearing is a different diameter for the rotor on the spindle.

I can't say for sure anymore, but I thought my old '86 C20 burb had the 3.5 shoes. It was a big block. I haven't noticed yet what's on my new '78 burb.

But yes, the D60 calipers are way beefier and have that single retaining bolt. I recently realized that C30's use the same caliper, and also a knuckle that is different from a C20.

I was wondering that I just picked up my d60 and was thinking the calipers looked the same on the c30 I pulled apart! I looked it up on my autozone app and it had the same part number.

I don't know, I've never had a Dana 44. My trucks all had Corporate 10 bolts up front.

I've got a 1979 GMC k15 and want longer rear springs for better ride and more load capacity, would really like 64s but 56s seem much easier, is it true that you can buy a lift shackle and just swap the side it's on to swap in the 56s? I'd like to go with the ord 2.5in shackle flip if possible

BigSexy- have you started on this project yet?

I ordered 56" springs and have them sitting in my garage. I bet the FedEx guy wasn't too happy. They weigh 90 lbs each. I have yet to order the rest of the parts (ORD 2.5" shackle flip bracket, the greaseable bushings, and the heavy duty shackle).

Carrying those 56" heavy springs I'm really hoping it rides nicer than what I have now.

That brings me to something I've wanted to verify. I have my K10 and putting C6P 3/4 ton 56 in springs on it. So I am moving the rear spring bracket back to the other set of holes. Question is, is the 3/4 ton C6P spring to fit my K10 52in spring bracket as far as width??? I guess I should probably measure both widths.

If you have 52in springs on a K20 now and going to 56in springs, I have a feeling it's going to ride alot nicer. My C20 has 56in C6P springs and it rides smoothe and doesn't take bumps bad at all. So I'm hoping for the same on my K10 to K20 conversion.

I'm not familiar with the C6P RPO code for springs. How many leaves are in that pack, or do you know the rated weight rating of them?

I was told the width is the same. One difference is the spring bushing size is different on a 56" spring. They typically have 1.5" bushing and a 1.75" bushing. Where the 52" springs typically have both bushings a 1.5" bushing.

Not sure of the spring rating, but the truck's GVWR is 8600lbs. Here's a pic of a C6P spring pack on a 86 C20. Seems most of the 2wd 3/4 ton trucks I've seen have them. Since I have Rancho what I believe to be 4in lift springs, I'm hoping to get a lift from the 52in K10 springs to the 56in C20 Springs and then just use no bigger than 2in lift blocks in the rear to level the truck.

Ok, that looks to be the same rear leaf springs that I just ordered. They are rated at 2,600 lbs. The 52" springs I have now were rated at 2,775 lbs.

Not going to do a shackle flip then with yours? I've heard it might be best to at least get an aftermarket shackle or do some grinding/filing on your stock one. I've seen some pictures where the stock shackle seems to have almost like a built in star washer where it prevents the shackle from moving/flexing easily.

I was hoping not to do a shackle flip. I've heard it's not a good idea to be carrying heavy weight or towing with the shackle flip so I wanted to avoid it because I do intend to tow with this truck using a drop receiver hitch.

Jumping on board here as I saw folks talking about rear brakes. My K2500 has the 13" drums but the brake shoes measured 2.5" wide. I see on here where folks are saying 2.75 and 3.00" wide. Do I have the correct width brake shoes? Thanks.
