Thread dedicated to the operation options of the 4L80-E in a Non Electronic Vehicle !!!
Options:
#1 No Computer at all. Full Manual Valve Body. This means, No Automatic Function at all whatsoever, not even Lock Up Torque Converter, you shift it manually, and lock up the TC with a push button, then your brake pedal or downshifting disables lock up.
#2 CompuShift Aftermarket Stand Alone Computer, Very Pricey, usually $1000 or so.
#3 OptiShift Aftermarket Stand Alone, very adjustable and a bit better on price, usually around $600 or so.
#4 GM OEM 6.2/6.5 Diesel Stand Alone Computer on 91 - 93 1 ton trucks. Rare and Hard to Find. (Someone confirm those years for me, I think I'm close, but wrong)
#5 Per Jims86, OEM 7427 PCM from a 94-95 GM Truck
This Post will be updated as info comes in, like years, makes and models of vehicle to find ECMs and wiring harnesses from.
