Going to do a cooling system flush before starting intake swap, and I'm going to replace radiator and heater hoses, etc while I'm at it. Truck has 108K, but has been sitting in the hot AL sun on concrete for the last 10 years, so I'm going to be proactive and replace most if not all of the rubber under the hood.

Thinking that while I'm doing it, a new higher performance water pump wouldn't add much to the parts bill and be worth doing now since I'm pretty sure it's got the original 1987 factory pump. Any suggestions on brands or higher performance pumps? Will do some towing, and AC is mandatory here in AL in the summer, so I want the cooling system right and tight.

South Alabama here. Mine is a toy, not a daily driver but I’m running whatever the premium O’Reilly’s pump is without issues.

IMO, you’d do better to focus on the radiator and fan set up.
