Exactly, I used to be constantly downshifting the MT on interstate hills before regearing. The original 3.08 gears were hideous. I was slipping my clutch to prevent stalling from a dead stop on steep hills with a light load. The emissions from that era choked HP which didn't help.but on those interstate hills/MT's you probably still have gear and it's not searching as much.
