I had a few questions that hopefully you know more about than i do.
I've been looking around trying to find some answers on a 350 to 454 conversion, However i haven't found anything specific to what i'm asking about.
I have a 1978 k20 with a blown original 350, and have access to a 1977 c30 with an original 454
I've heard that sbc and bbc have different engine mounting bracket positions, but i've also heard that the same generation of sbc or bbc are the same, or one generation sbc is the same as a different gen bbc or vise versa.
The 350 is running a TH400HD, but the 350 is a 4wd, and the 454 is a TH400 (non HD) 2wd, so would the TH400 from the 4wd (350) fit the 454 flywheel?
If adapter plates/brackets are needed, where could i find them?
Time isn't a concern, its just a weekend wheeler. Money isn't a big, big concern either, i would like to keep it somewhat "inexpensive" though, if possible
Misc information if you need it to make your opinion
38/15.50/16.5 tires
4.56 gearing
14 bolt rear
Dana 60 front
np203 Transfer case
Thanks for any answers/tips/advice.
