What i was gonna do is get the rear end and front setup all off the same truck with the brake master cylindar so u know the set up would be sufficient with all the parts the factory had used one that model. And just run all new brake lines so u know there is no weak links. Just my thoughts. But just measure the front set up to be sure it will swap over

i just notice I enter a bit of wrong information on one of my suburbans and no one caught it LOL its a '86 R20 (not C20). Damn letters. Anyways i found a rear end out of a 2005 silverardo 2500 with 3.73 gears for $950. And also found one out of a Chevy Avalanche 2500 with limited slip but no gear ratio specs for $1200.

Sounds like an awful lot for used axles, maybe just my opinion tho. Last summer I bought a ford 8.8 from an exploder with 373 gears an a limited slip diff and complete disc brakes setup for $200. Granted its for a ford, so most people just look at it as scrap, but its the perfect size for my 49 mopar, but a gm axle shouldn't cost that much unless its a Dana 60 or completely rebuilt with new gears and seals an such. Just my thoughts tho, so if you like the axle and think its a fair price, go for it.

Yeah its a bit high, its from a local scrap yard that's quite large and they think their stuff is gold. The other local scrap yards don't have good websites.

Rear brake cylinders between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton units is the same,so is the front braking calipers.JFYI

R and V designations were not used until 87. your 86 is a C.
