33's on a 2" lift

Easy question here i want to do a simple 2" lift. Will i be able to fit 33x12.5x15 on my truck with only a 2" lift or will i need additional modifications.

People have run 33" tires with no lift on the original wheels. So with a 2" lift you will be fine as long as you use the right size wheel.

Im not sure about the 12.5 though. I wanna say yes but they might rub just a little being that wide

Bucket had a post with this Blazer. 33x12.5" tires and 15x8.5" Wheels. I've seen people at work that had 33" tires on the stock rally wheels.

I also ran 33x 12.50's on stock ralley wheels before I lifted my truck. I had no issues.

12.50s on stock wheels would be alright. I'm running them on 12" wheels and they rub all the time even with the 4" body lift. I need new springs.

Those front fenders have a very minor trim to clear the tires in all conditions. When it gets put back on the road, the 2.5 lift will be under it.

33's are a funny thing on these trucks. My '90 3/4 ton Burb had 33's with stock springs and no rubbing at all (from what I could tell anyway, it was very rusty and noisy) but I could rub the 33's on my 4" lifted 3/4 ton Burb. Stock springs must give less flex than some lift springs.

My 74 k10 had no issue with 33's on the stock suspension with a set of steel 15 x 10's. As soon as I got 15 x 10 slot mags, I couldn't hardly take a dip or turn without rubbing them.

It really depends on the condition of your suspension along with the backspacing/offset of your wheels.

Yeah it's no problem if your truck is a mall cruiser, but if you twist it up off road the tires will rub.
The wider the rims are the worse the problem is.
This would a be a good use for Add-an-inch or Easy-inch 1" zero-rate lift blocks. That extra inch and also with these blocks you can move the front diff forward 1". With this setup you can still meet rubber to metal but it is moving in the right direction.
Depends how you want to use the truck, really.

If you are using ralley wheels ,8" wide x 15" and original back space 33" tires will work without a lift.

33x12.5 on 16.5 here with a 2" lif, ORD HD shackles and their sway bar kit.

Then I went to 305x70x16 same lift (icy picture)

I haven't had any rubbing or any issues, even offroad.
