So when I bought my 84 c10, she had a 305 that was tired and wants to die. I tired bring her around, but she doesn't want to stay running and when she does, it has a really bad valve train knock. So I bought a 350 TBI and had it bored out and I'm making a 383. I'm so excited, I'm taking her down to my buddy's shop April 1st to swap them out. I havent been able to drive her to find out what else needs to be done but I can't wait.

The 383 is pretty much built. We are going to use the distributor, headers, water pump, and fuel pump from the 305 to put on the 383. Next month it will be put in the truck. I will get pics of it in the truck once we get there.

Nice! What do you have planned for a fuel pump and system?

Ultra-Red Silly-Putty!

Says on the tube, it's for making gaskets...
Maybe he used it on the heads too.... ?

Might want to clean and rod that radiator?
We could have wager on who correctly guesses how many tubes are clogged shut, in the lower core... ?

I'm going to start the wager by going with 7 tubes, completely blocked...

You could list a cool part prize for the winner!

Winner pays shipping...

For now, Im just going to use the 305 fuel pump till I can afford something different. Still have a ton of work before she can get on the streets.

We got a new radiator for it. The old one had pin holes in three different spots. Think they hit it with the engine, the fins were smashed.

Nice. The TBI donor block I used didn't give me a provision for a mechanical pump. Going with an electric Holley system for carb.

Are you going to use the sad sad TBI swirl port heads on the the 383?

Upon looking at the end casting of the engine photo you have above, you are running a set of Vortec heads.
Nice.
