2003 gmc mirror upgrade

So I’m supposed to help a buddy of mine replace the mirrors on his 2003 GMC Sierra tomorrow. He currently has the accordion style mirrors and is putting the 2017 style mirrors that have the base for his truck on the truck. Is there anything we should watch out for will it just be indoor the old mirrors and bolt the new ones on and plug them in. The current mirrors are heated and have power and turn signals just like the ones going on the truck will.

Well for future reference if this comes up on someones google search or something, the swap was simple just bolt on and plug in the new mirrors and they worked fine.
