2000s hydroboost into a square

Has anyone installed a hydroboost from a 2003, 4, 5... suburban, Tahoe, escalade... into a square?

If so, assuming I would have to use the pedal, hydroboost unit and master cylinder.
Power steeping pump would also need the extra connector.

i put the one from the 2006 truck in mine. i used the stock brake pedal and just matched the connection point from where it pivots down to the rod. I also had to cut the rod coming out of the master and thread it so i could attach the original push rod.

as far as the engine side, i mad a new bracket for the master so i could use the original studs on the firewall and i had to enlarge the original hole a little where the rod goes through the firewall

i'm OEM HB and this is the best brake set up you can have! maybe gonna upgrade it whit the bigger recent one some day!

I think that's what I'm going to use. That way I know everything will bolt up with no issues.

So here is my question, why would you want to do this swap? I've been a mechanic for pushing 30 years, so I know the standard GM vac system and the hydroboost system and have worked on both. I've also owned both. For me I do not see the appeal to hydroboost except where there isn't enough room for a vacuum booster, or perhaps if your converting to a diesel. for me I don't like the brake pedal feel. I'm not trying to discourage you at all, I'm just curious.

The 6.2 diesel squares had a hydro boost from the factory

Here's info for a 79-84 HB system. I know the mid 85 to end of model year 86 is a little different due to the accessory drives being modified for dual smog pumps.

I'm kind wondering, too, why would use a newer hydro boost setup when you could use one off a square body.

Unless you already happened to have a newer one.

It's more about availability. I run across the 2000's all the time. Hardly see any squares that have them.
I would prefer to use a square one.
