not necessarily true. I have zero lift with 33s and I couldn't get them to rub it I tried.
edit: oops, didn't realize how old this thread is.
All depends on the truck, the springs, the tires and the rims too.
'90 K2500 Burb. All stock everything but with 33x12.5's on factory 8 inch wide rims. No rub at all.
'88 K20 Burb. 4 inch BDS springs and 305/70's (33x12.5) on 8 inch rims. Rubbed hard several times on the lower fenders.
Sounds backwards, right? I think the BDS springs flexed much better than stock, which means the axle can tilt at more of an angle and the tires can get much closer to the fender in those conditions. Also, those metric 33's actually measured at 33". While the actual "33's" on the '90 probably measured at 32" at best. I don't remember if I ever actually put a tape measure to them.
