1987 K10 Transmission Cooler Lines

I am in need of replacing the trans cooler lines on my 1987 K10 Silverado and cannot seem to get to the connector lines on the transmission. Looks like I need to drop the trans a little bit to get to them. Any hints or tricks to get these lines off and on without damaging them?

I just replaced the lines on my truck, but I have a TH-400 with dual exhaust. I was able to get up there without having to remove anything. I was a PITA. I'm not sure it's the same with an O/D transmission. I installed the transmission side first and let the front near the radiator hang.

Pretty much same chicken. They are a pita regardless of trans model.

I've found in some cases, it's easier to break the steel line loose and then take the adapter loose from the case with the steel line still attached. The adapter is easier to get e wrench on.

Cut the lines in a convenient spot and put couplings in, that takes care of that PITA..
