Hey everyone! New to the forum but not the trucks. Mine is a 1986 GMC Suburban Sierra Classic, 1/2 ton 2WD. I bought it in August of 2015 from a friend in Indiana. Since then I've removed the running boards, swapped the grille for a fleabay one, swapped the rally wheels for some 454 SS style ones, built a 350 for it to replace the oil burner in it, and had the 700R4 rebuilt after it went out. Immediate future plans include lowering it a little, keeping the fluids in, and keeping the metal on it! Some other rides I have include a 1985 Corvette and a 1995 S10 4X4. Looking forward to being here.

Thank you for the welcome everyone! Some more pictures are from the day I bought it, after a wash, and next to my Vette. Eventually I'll work on an album in the respective forum and I'll try to keep threads on progress for lowering it and anything else. She's in pretty good shape but will need some body work soon as well. There's some rot on the body moulding and the wheel wheels are starting to show. I've been searching for a house/garage so she can be on her way to a garage queen.

Been awhile since I've been here to the forum. I get the weekly emails and figured I'd update a little. I've since sold this Suburban and it helped fund the purchase of a house with a good starter garage. The new owners collectively had over ten other squarebodies; it was nice to see it going to a good home. I still have to have a Chevy and went noticeably bigger. The shop/tow truck is an 88 C3500 with a donor powertrain from a 95 since the engine in the 88 was burnt up. Also upgrading from the SM465 to an NV4500 from the 95. Currently going through the engine before getting it back in and going! I'll probably keep with the forum at times since the 454 TBI's were also prominent in the squares, the technical information should be similar.

At least the burb went to a squarebody lover and you still got some chevys :) Definitely share progress that you make on these trucks.

It's slowly but surely coming along. I'm running the 88 harness and computer with the 95 engine. The Gen V will be nicer over the Mark IV. Currently honing and re-ringing for the install. Have an iron bellhousing on the way to replace a cracked aluminum one. Headers and mufflers ready to build an exhaust once it's all in! The white truck ran and drove well however had minimal brakes and steering, and was rotting out. I sold the bed, cab, and chassis for half of what I paid and got a lot of good parts for the money.
