Good Afternoon/Evening Gents.
I've got a new antenna that needs constant power. My un-educated idea is to tie it to the wire that powers a power antenna. If this is not a bad idea, which one of these wires is the one I need to use?

If this is a bad idea, please let me know how to get power to the antenna only when the ACC is on or the truck is running.

Thanks in advance.

Use the dome light or cigarette lighter power feed, it will be an orange wire.

The antenna wire on a GM radio is a trigger wire, it only has power on it with the radio on.

Matt,
I'm only looking to power the antenna when the radio is on. Which one of those wires will make that happen?

The better aftermarket radios have a 12v remote wire that is only hot when the radio is on.
They are meant to signal an amplifier to turn on that has a heavy gauge always hot power wire, but would also work for your application.

You must be registered for see images attach

Pretty sure you will need to add that wire to your existing harness since GM never offered power antenna or amps in the trucks. I think this is the terminal, maybe Napa can get one?

I believe there is a wire pinout diagram stamped on the radio case.
