hey I’m new here and I’m really trying to find out more about my truck. It’s a single rear wheel 1982 c30 (supposedly) with 4 speed Manual and a 350 under the hood. It used to be a refinery truck so it did a lot of idling in its life. But I am curious, when I look up the VIN it says it’s an 82 1 ton. But everytime I google an 82 c30 they are all dually. Did they make 80s 1 tons single rear wheel? Was my truck possibly converted from dually to SRW? Any advice would be appreciated to understand more of the history of these trucks!

was yours a chassis cab or a c30 pickup? a chassis cab will also come with srw and drw but the frame is different and the axles are thus differnt perches and such. Your truck frame looks to me like its a 1 ton frame and ride height.

kfif you do have a chassis cab, it looks like its a TC-30903
which means in 1982 the rear drw axle is the optional according to this screenshot. But if its a truck, then I already know that to be true but they came in SRW a lot too. Dually sint something you want unless you can use that stability and footprint.

Howdy from Ohio #2!

As was already mentioned, yes there were single wheel C30's. The wheelbase is the easiest way to determine if you have a standard pickup frame or not.
