So this past weekend I ended not having enough time to do everything I wanted but made some progress on the TA and Burb nonetheless. I went to home depot and picked up 14 2x4x8 studs. I didnt want to spend the money on ground contact pressure treated wood cuz I'm cheap. I will probably end up cutting some sort of pressure treated base for it from the scraps I have in my basement.

I only jacked up the front because the rear was super sketchy, luckily I'll have enough room to what I need to do as it sits now. That cribbing is super sturdy. Highly suggested for dirt monkeys like myself.

Mental note...install trans cooler lines with engine and trans out!

Next weekend I have to install the condenser in my Jetta so we'll see how much I get done. Plus its the Mrs. birthday weekend so we have a few things planned.

Anyone who knows about GM cars will tell you that Olds was king. They were usually the first division to try something new. Rocket 88 anyone? multiple carburetors? Supercharger?

Not a Poncho , but eons ago I saw a Dart (I think) with a Hemi in it - crammed in.

Amazing, though- when I bought my 1st T/A it was just a used car ( 1985 I bought a 77) - who would have thought the values would get as high as they have for a 180HP 2.41 rear end pony car ?

Dammit!

Maybe my Camaro SS will climb in value, but she is a driver, not a garage queen.

I've been aware of them for a long time. I did happen to catch a couple of documentaries about them on YouTube in the last year, it's an interesting story. I never gave them much thought before, but it was kind of Pontiac's last stab at building a true GTO.

My guess is stability and ease of assembly. I know the boards are stronger if laid on end.

Finally had some time to yank the engine last weekend. Once again on dirt with the help of the Mrs. and some scrap plywood. This time was much easier for two reasons:
1. There was no tranny attached to it like the Tahoe drivetrain I pulled.
2. The car isnt being scrapped so I dont have to have move the engine too far out of the way.

I pulled it just in front of the closed hood and wrestled it onto an 4 legged engine stand. Thats where the refresherizing will happen. This weekend I plan on pressure washing it and the engine bay. Still waiting on the cam to come, its supposed to ship 5/31. Once I get the cam in my hands I'll tear the engine down, install it along with new gaskets and seals and also paint it Pontiac Blue then get the tranny in. Its also got an edelbrock intake and some Flowtech headers. I'm going to run a Ford starter solenoid on the firewall or wheel well to combat any hot start issues.

I havent decided if I'm going to wrestle the engine and tranny in or if I'm going to lay the tranny on the ground, set the motor, then wrestle the tranny into postion from bottom.
