I'm only two hours away and have been looking for a decent K5 project so I both emailed and texted the the individual early yesterday morning. If the owner would respond, I'd run right over and buy it. So far no response at all...........

Bingo, the fact that there’s a local phone number in the add, I’d be calling it.
It’s amazing how many older folks think texting is some sort of voodoo.
Hell, my in-laws, who both are in possession of all their faculties and both were very tech saavy back in the day are just coming around to texting in the last year or 2.
I had to do a Craigslist add for my FIL just recently because he was worried about the add being tied back to “him” on the internet!

It probably is. Been trying to buy it sight unseen since last night. Since I realized our son will be in Huntsville over Mem Day and he could go pick it up and store it or whatever.
Had a couple nice conversations and got some additional pics and the story was/is believable, save for the price. Have heard crickets since I asked to see a picture of the title, with proof they owned it.
Not getting my hopes up...

Well they “were” communicating until it got to proof of ownership and my request to get a virtual test drive.
I still think there’s a slight chance they’re just flaky owners, but it smells about 95% scam.
Albeit a unique scam if it is, as the pics don’t appear to be poached from the internet, the lady was able to take specific pics I requested, on short order and the story was half ass believable, even though the vehicle is advertised for about 20% of what it’s worth.

Or in short, there’s no good reason that someone local didn’t show up within hours with 30 Benjis in their pocket and a pen to sign the bill of sale!
