1977 factory installed roof antenna,

1977 factory installed roof antenna, does anyone know if this was an option and if so how to fix one that is snapped off(I believe) just got it and can’t find any info on this.

There are fender & windshield antenna but I've never seen a cab mounted example. I've seen several aftermarket CB antenna holes though.

Thank you, thought aftermarket but truck has no headliner and there is no hole inside. I also removed the interior light to have a look. Thanks for the help. Happy to be a part of the site!

I just welded a hole similar in my 87 V10. Sparks flying through the dome light LOL! Thankfully there's no headliner in it. It has the windshield antenna but I've used a 91 Sub clip & it's fender mounted.

I’m going to say that’s an NMO antenna mount, for a cb or public safety antenna. I don’t think GM ever did a factory roof antenna. The NMO can be installed from the top down, snaking the cable between the roof panels, so there wouldn’t be a need for a hole under the headliner. You can either place a weather cap on it, a new antenna, or remove it and fill the hole.

If I recall, there was a splitter from the radio that used the factory antenna.
So what you’re saying is, they didn’t work all that well lol. That’s a horrible design for a transmitter antenna.
