1977 C10 Rear speakers??

Ok yeah the sound definitely doesn’t go away completely. So it must be tone control. Thank you for the insight. So Ilol take another pic of the back but it sounds like this radio probably can’t be used for multiple speakers

I believe that it can be, but maybe not in stereo. I'm guessing there are terminals on the radio to run a second speaker, but the terminal diagram should tell the tale.

It's there on the back, but the HVAC cable is obstructing it.

Looks like it does have the terminals for LR and RR and a ground right above the front speaker connection. I guess it would be in mono but at least it has the ability to push 2 rear speakers. Does anyone know what kind of harness connection I need get for that? Could I just wire directly to those metal prongs if I can’t find a connector to fit that?

I wonder if that radio was maybe added by the dealer? In a Google search, that style radio plug wasn't used with GM radios after 1972.

But anyway, a '71-'72 car would probably be a good source for the needed connector. There's some on ebay right now.

Ill look at the build sheet but believe that’s the original radio to the truck. The weird thing is I can’t find another radio with those connections on the back.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it has the older style connector. I haven't dealt with enough factory installed 70's radios to remember what was typical.

Picture below, top are stereo knobs bottom are not. Shaft for stereo knobs has a cut out that indexes to inner raised area of knob.

Yeah I will have to connect a speaker to it and see. It’ll be the only way to know for sure

They are pretty nice. My 79 Vette has one.
If you adjust the squelch just right, yon can listen to music, then when someone close by keys their mic the music is cancelled while their they're talking, or when you key your mic.

If you are listening to a FM stereo station, and your radio is stereo capable, you will see a small orange lite at the lower right corner of the radio to the right of the letters FM.

Let’s not bypass the obvious. Even if it’s stereo and has those outputs it will still sound gross and not loud. (likely doesn’t though if it doesn’t have secondary controls on both knobs, 1 for tone and 1 for balance/fade….been a long time since I’ve used a functioning 70s OE car stereo, lol. We were tossing them in favor of decent stereos in the 80s)
I’m supposing this a question to see if it works. Not to enhance the audio experience in your truck.

If you decide to set the original radio aside, you can get a more modern type head unit from Retro Manufacturing. The truck I bought actually had one (poorly) installed when I got it. Now its wired correctly its not bad. Also has bluetooth/aux cord connection capabilities.
This pic is real similar to what I have and would be super simple to get all the extra speakers you want, even a subwoofer if you're into that sorta thing
