What's the largest tire I can put on a 15X7 rim, will a 235/75/15 work?

Long ago I had a set of 265/75/15 tires on my truck and its stock wheels.
I am sure a 235 would be fine.

But I am no professional.

You can put just about any size tire on a 15 in rim. Biggest I've seen in person were 40 inch tires.
I personally run 31x10.50R15s and 33x12.50R15s on my squares with 15x7s. 235/75s are equivalent to a 29in I think, pretty small..
All depends on what your truck can support. What type of square do you have? I know on a stock C10, the biggest you can go is 31x10.50, but stock 4x4s, 3/4, and 1 tons you can go a bit bigger.

235/75-15 is no problem on a 7" wide wheel. 31x10.5's will fit without issue as well.

I have 7" wides on my GMT400 and am running 31x10.5 and they look great. Could go a little wider, but they the sidewalls will get a little iffy to me. Haha.

a lot of shops won't put anything much wider than 10.5 or 11in on a 7in wide rim. I run 33x10.5xr15 on 15x7 OEM aluminum wheels. that's about as big as you can go. I think rally wheels are 15x8in and can accommodate 12.5in wide tires.

Only if you go to shops that have silly things like insurance, and phone numbers. If you tire guy is named Phil and his "shop" is a metal shed from Home Depot.....he is usually cool with trying the wide boys.

The rallies I bought are 7" wide. I do have two 8" wide rallies, looking for two more.

I have a fully restored set of 15x8 with all the trim and caps 1979 C10 that I am selling down here in Florida. But I am wanting to sell the set of 4.

235 75 R 15 was the standard size for most of the C10s and K10s if I recall.
I have had 33s on 15x8s down to the 235s on 15x7s with no issue.
