14 bolt newbie question.

Please don't shred me here. I am in the process of tearing down my 87. I am going rear 14 bolt full floater shopping later next week. I know non dually, (or so i was told) My question is when i get ready to assemble the truck, does the full floater bolt right up in the same stock location? As in when I un-do my axel, do I unbolt it, roll it out of the way, and then bolt the 14 in the exact same location using my stock springs location?

Yes it will if you have a srw axle. Drw/chassis cab and van chassis are different.

If you’re curious, theres a comprehensive 14bolt write up floating around on the inner webs. Look for that. It’s very informative.

The 1 ton srw axles have different spring perch width (40.5” vs 42”)and the shocks are reversed and located differently as 1 tons have the shocks inside the frame

The 3/4 ton axle shares the 42” perch spacing and shock locations with the 1/2ton
