Keep an eye on CL too. Around here, you can pick up drum to drum 14b FF rear axles for $150 and if you're quick, even $100. I've hauled one off for FREE in the FREE section, and bought 1 for $100. A 4.10 unit was $100, and the 3.73 unit was a haul off. If you want, I can keep a look out here too. We won't ship the whole unit, but if I can scoop up a complete axle for $100 or so, then pull the carrier and ship it off to you. I can't imagine shipping for a bare carrier to be over $25 if it's worth $125 total to you. I have a feeling you might be able to find a complete axle around you for $150 too then you'll have spare parts. Not that you'd ever need them. People rarely need spare parts for the 14b FF's cuz they just don't break very often at all. But you sure might be able to sell the whole housing less the carrier for $50 - $100 to a Jeeper who plans on cutting it up for a crawler upgrade. Those Yupppie Jeepers usually have pockets full of cash too. :waytogo:

I was asking $300 for mine out of the C20 since it had rare 3.21's in it and figured someone how had 4.10's and a Th400 NON overdrive trans would jump to have 3.21's. I ended up selling it to a guy who bought the doors and fenders off the Burb as a package deal, so I let him have the complete axle for $200.

I'm not saying it's common to see $100 and $150, just saying if you watch, you see them.

All we have right now is a 14b FF for $250 with disk brake brackets and 3.73's.

And a 14b FF with 4.56's and locker that's been modified to fit a Jeep for $400.

you can grease pack them or fill the diff and lift one side so the fluid runs to the reservoir(about 10 minutes) then return to level and refill the diff. repeat for the opposite side give it a test drive and recheck the fluid level. highdesertranger
