The rear end in my friends truck is weird.

The slots for traditional break adjustment are on the upper 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock positions and not down at 6 o’clock where 1 would normally look to reach him with a spoon and adjust the rear brakes. And are there any other ways of identifying a 12 V rear end as per the era of vehicle that belongs to.

Why they are that way I don't know, but that is how they are on these trucks.

Ruined backing plate from my 79 Big 10.

So that rear is just a 12 bolt (I think my buddy said 12, I didn’t count) from the mid 70s and at that point when ordering pieces and parts he’s just got to measure the shoes and the drums and wheel cylinders for that era, correct? He’s already done the job but he just didn’t know what specific it was out of seeing how Truck started as a in-line 6 Wheel Dr.

We generally want to is this for GP and parts ordering in the future.

That actually makes sense. I never thought of it that way because I use all my other access port to adjust the brakes.

Obviously, I am an offbrand man that was here helping a friend figure out what his drive train was
