Hey 89S Dawg, you never did answer. Are you sure your rear differential is OEM? What is your RPO code for that unit. Its not a GovLock unit. Has anyone been able to tell you which unit it is?

I don;t know how to tell buddy. Where do I look? In the glove box? I'll have to take the drywall screw out to open it, lol.

Well hell yes. You'll have to take the screw out and take a good pic of your RPO code label and post it up so we can see your RPO codes. I am very interested in seeing what code they gave for the LSD. Maybe my truck have it too and I just don't know it.

I can make you got a G80 locking Diff and GT4 is 3.73 I do beleive. When I get a bit more time, I'll look over your codes, But G80 is usally Gov Lock junk, so someone may have swapped out your carrier before. Unless there is somethign I don't know which is very very possible too.

So the code is for govlok, but you think the pic shows something different? This has been taken apart before....

I'll look again but for some reason, on your change gear oil thread, that didn't look like a Gov-Lock set up to me. It looked more like a Limited Slip set up to me. If I am right, and I could be wrong, if I a right, either someone swapped out the carriers to a LSD unit at one time, or GM used more than just Gov-Lock for locking differentials.

I am thinking gov lock has like a Cam wedge system, not springs for 1. Also I do not see the gov gear outside the ring gear that is notorious for stripping teeth and why the govlock sucks.
