Help me identify this push bar?

Without the bar in front of me, spacing is about 30”. When you look at pictures of the Ford trucks, they have that same recessed feature in the bumper that the Chevys do - but to that point, the profile in this bar is similar to old dodge bumpers… I’m thinking the top mounts are mounts for...

Help me identify this push bar?

Hi all, The guy that sold me my (mostly) ‘78 GMC gave me this push bar with it. The hole pattern on my front bumper doesn’t match the mounting tabs on the bar, and the profile of the bumper is different than mine. Any ideas what this would have come off of? Different year of Chevy truck...

What carpet kit do I need?

I don’t have any pics of the carpet installed at the moment, but it seemed to fit the contours of the bottom of the truck well. I aligned the carpet to the form of the floor, the back of the carpet came right up to the bottom of the back wall of the cab and I just ran the firewall side up as far...

What carpet kit do I need?

Update: I can't get any good pics of it, but I ordered the kit for a '78 M/T and it fits well over the doghouse and against the contours of the cab floor. Slight trimming around the carpet edges, as expected. Thanks to all for the help

What carpet kit do I need?

Thanks dvdswan, I was thinking the same thing but I wanted to check with the experts to make sure the cab floor was the same form or that I wouldn’t run into some other unforeseen issue. Thanks for the advice on the matting - I actually laid the whole thing down yesterday. I found that for the...

What carpet kit do I need?

For those of you who are familiar with differences in truck cabs between years, I’m looking for some help/advice. My truck is a ‘78 4spd K15, but the cab is off an ‘87 Chevy R10 automatic. Someone cut away the tunnel on the ‘87 and bolted in a doghouse cover that I would assume came off the...

How does the fuel tank hook up? ‘78 Stepside

Hello guys, I’m putting together my truck which was a basket case when I bought it, so I’m running into problems where I don’t know how to put it back together because I’m not the guy that took it apart. One issue is the fuel tank hooking up to the filler neck. I bought a formed hose, but the...

Paint manufacturer recommendations for the DIY

Just my 2 cents, I’ve only ever painted 2 vehicles. The first was an ‘85 Corvette, shot Nason primer, Metallux color, and Nason 2K urethane clear. It was BMW midnight blue, dark color and heavy HEAVY metallic flake. Gorgeous color. The color coat wrinkled up as soon as you laid the first heavy...

Tonneau covers for short bed stepsides?

That sounds like a pretty slick design. I’d almost be interested in doing an accordion-style top with piano hinges like you see on a lot of commercially available beds - that way I can move tall furniture and that sort of thing without having to take the cover off. I am plenty handy and can get...

Tonneau covers for short bed stepsides?

Does anyone make a good tonneau for the short bed stepsides? What kinds of products do you guys have and how have you liked them? I have a '78 I'm building a walnut bed floor for, and I'd like something to keep it out of the sun/snow. I see LMC sells a velcro-on bed cover, is this as cheap and...

    Loop Style Hood Latch Dimensions

Vince, I sent along a PM with the address, thanks for the help man. I can also take the measurements of the latch when it gets here and post those to the forum for others that might be trying to put one together themselves. This forum is great, y'all rock!

    Loop Style Hood Latch Dimensions

Hello, I bought my truck missing a hood-side latch (for internal release vehicles), and I'm coming to learn that it could cost me - no one makes a replacement for the hoop, and all the sources I ask have either never heard of the loop-style latch or want $150 for one. I'm going to try my hand...
