@Turbo4whl , don't have a ground strap on the hood but ohm meter between hood and firewall shows good connectivity- same with radiator support. @bucket , When I talked to the Morimoto guy he said the loop was the only way to get rid of it. Oddly, my prior LEDs had no RFI
So I bit the bullet and put the LED headlights in- and they are great! BUT they also totally kill the FM radio. Tried just sticking these ferrite cores (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DC9JF5K/) on the leads, but no joy. Called Morrimoto who makes Retrobrights for Holley and they said I need to...
@Bennyt - great tip on Holley clearance! Just got a couple 4 button window switches for 5.57 each! https://www.holley.com/products/deals/clearance_parts/parts/09-106
I got ACCEL 4048 Spark Plug Wires I thought fit my 83 K20 Suburban 350 LT9 (wires route underneath the exhaust manifold), but no matter how I route the wires a couple of the wires are super short and too tight to the exhaust so expect they are wrong for my application. Frustrating as it runs...
This is the 4 port one I have:https://www.stockwiseauto.com/standard-motor-products-dsv11-vacuum-delay-valve and this search show all of the Standard Motor ones so it might be useful to track down exactly the one you need: https://www.stockwiseauto.com/advanced_search_result?keywords=DSV
@Kilian, You found one? Post a link to the pic or listing. Only 4 port one I've seen was not the same (https://www.ebay.com/itm/266395991602#:~:text=New GM 14075612 Spark Control Valve 1985-86 C/K Truck?msockid=2ff10e6c85be68fe046e1b7c84ac69b8)
Yup- the headlight buckets are held by one spring and two adjusters. the plastic bit is this: https://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Headlight-Adjusting-Nut-GM-p/a11718.htm
Hard to say w/o looking up the part numbers in the GM parts book. The check valve is 4 port, I've not been able to locate one on the interwebs. Delay valve might be available
All TVS are coolant controlled. I think there are 2 on the 1983 M engine, one 2 port and one 4 port. You are asking about the two port circled only controls the distributor vacuum advance - dashed line goes to the lower port on the TVS and part of check valve nearest carb which is notionally...
Following on my May 2024 post regarding the Auxbeam 4x6 LED Headlights (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0896XXLQF/). After a 1300 mile road test, I can definitively say DONT buy these lights They are a waste of money. Even after perfect aiming, Low beam light pattern is terrible to the point...
Pull the wipers and cowl and check the seam between firewall and dash - they will always leak there. Get it super clean and prime it, paint it, let dry, then seal it up. Flexseal worked great for me
Nice! I would not use the roof rails for anything other than catching drips. They are only held on by 7mm sheet metal screws. You could use rivet nuts and some decent sealer and make it all custom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivet_nut
