'78 K20 wiper and headlight switch selection help needed!

That picture is weird. It looks like you should have a numbered reference part, not a letter. How cruise would impact the choice is beyond me on a dash mounted wiper switch ... Intermittent switches look like number 4 and have a black round know ( # 6) to control the delay. I would ASSUME...

What have you done to your square lately??

What I did was discover a brake issue on the way in to work this morning . At work I discovered my aftermarket PV2 proportioning valve is leaking from the "nose" seal . (Left side if looking at it while mounted on the truck) What I will be doing is replacing it with my old one that I had to...

    Cruise gone crazy

This is a link to a download but it has a ton of info on the cruisemaster system. I do not know how to directly link to it off the phone which is why I did it this way. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/cruise-control-problems.44965/post-950480 Let's see if this link works ...

Thoughts on how to recover from a slightly cross threaded spark plug threads in head?

I bought something similar ( if not that one ) for Goldie but never used it. I THINK it will fit just like a plug socket but can't say for sure. Seems like it would be totally worthless if it did not.

Thoughts on how to recover from a slightly cross threaded spark plug threads in head?

My first thought would be a tool like this from a local parts store. Get the thread cleaned up and rock and roll ...

    Column Gear Shift Detent

Don't know anything about them but this place and diagram shows it as number 65. They also say 76 and up so you will have to call. Good luck ! https://www.steeringcolumnservices.com/gmtilt.php

What have you done to your square lately??

Noticed my turn signal/cruise stalk was loose. Looking thru old pics and noticed that there is a cut out in the lockplate that accepts a round tab from the plastic lock plate cover. Hmmm... Looks big enough to get to the screw without taking the lockplate off. Yup ! Still had to take the...

    Ignition Switch (Tilt Column)

Did you have to flip the wire connectors 180 to get them to plug in ? If not - you have the correct switch. :Big Laugh:

    Waffling

I have always like the way 2WD 3/4 tons look with the stock wheels so that would my vote. But ... White wagon wheels would be a good circa look, too. :Big Laugh:

What have you done to your square lately??

Yeah, but it sux major azz when we have the frozen stuff and lose power for 3 and a half days a la 2021. Frozen pipes bite. BUT... Vehicles with 5W30 still start fairly easily. :dogpile:

What have you done to your square lately??

Decided to experiment with Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30. We shall see if it lives up to the claims. Even if it does not, it will get me through the colder months. :Big Laugh: Almost seems like it runs smoother but that may be in my head.

    Lost ignition!

Did you have any other square head keys to try whether yours or someone else's? Goldies key cylinder is like Ted's S10 - you can pull the key out while it is running. Could be a handy feature. :Big Laugh:

    Lost ignition!

While your method might possibly work with the older style of lock cylinder to remove, I suspect you will have a tough time loosening the set screw style that way. Not sure these cut off dates are correct but the 2 different styles shown are...

    Lost ignition!

It is actually the lock cylinder (ignition switch is at the bottom of the column)and it is not a difficult job if you have access to a steering wheel puller, a lock plate puller, and you aren't afraid to take out the turn signal switch. Quite a bit harder without those tools, but not...

    Wiper Switch Conversion

I think you can if you have tilt- it would be a matter of swapping all the parts upwards of the tilt housing. Non tilt I am not sure on. Might be easier to get a used correct column if available just to be safe.

Stuck E brake on 87 Scottsdale

Welcome! Looks like the Front shoe is cracked in that one picture. I am thinking that rather than the parking brake sticking you may just he able to back off the brake adjustment star wheel on the bottom and get the drums back on.

What have you done to your square lately??

Did an accidental battery test as I went out this morning and noticed the dome light was on. From ... last... night ....when I fired her up in the driveway. Started right up this morning, though, so I guess it passed the test!
