    Tach conversion kits

Thanks for all the input. I actually just got a factory cluster with the tach and all the gauges from a guy off eBay. Looks nice and should arrive today. Was still cheaper than getting the conversation kit.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve looked into Intellitronix. Just not a big digital fan. Wanting to stay analog if possible.

    Tach conversion kits

Has anybody installed one of the Tachometer Conversation Kits from either Brothers, LMC, or USA1. https://www.brotherstrucks.com/Tachometer-Conversions/products/2629/ I just hit the Two year mark in my complete rebuild and looking at the gauges now. Thought about AutoMeter and the like but a...

    Replacing fenders

Just checked and nope. Want to say it’s 16ga steel but can’t find my gauge. There pretty solid but like everyone else says and per the packaging there all made in Taiwan.

    Replacing fenders

Just for FYI if you go to AMD for pickup they won’t package the inners. They’ll give them to you just as they have them on the shelves. I guess that’s where the 10% off came into it.

    Replacing fenders

Lol. I here ya. I’m about a half hour south of the airport. Left at rush hour and made it up there and back before lunch so traffic is not that bad unless there’s a wreck. Good luck.

    Replacing fenders

If you can make it out to Atlanta that’s where Auto Metal Direct has there distribution warehouse. Was there last week and picked up new fenders, core support, and tailgate for my ‘79. Not only did I not have to pay shipping but they also gave my 10% off just for buying it direct at there...

    NP205 Rebuild (Anti Rotation Pin)

Thanks for the pictures. It explains how to reassemble the rear output shaft but not disassembly. In the instructions above it’s called the washer pin. Does it push it to remove or pull out.

    NP205 Rebuild (Anti Rotation Pin)

I’m in the process of rebuilding my NP205 and adding a twin stick and coming up with a blank on one part. On the output shaft behind the big gear are a bunch of roller bearings I need to get to and replace. All held together with a massive snap ring that all ready claimed two pairs of cheap...

    12 bolt regear with G80

Mornin y’all. I currently have ‘79 K10 with a 12 bolt 3.08 gears with a G80 locker. I recently changed the front diff to 4.11s and looking to do the same rear. Quick question. I was planning on getting a new locker and gear set but it’s getting expensive cause I’m also doing a disc brake...

    Wheel stud lenght needed?

That was my initial thought. If I put in the longer studs do I have to worry about the lugs bottoming out before they get a bite on to the wheel (for the closed type lugs) or would I be forced to use regular nut style lugs. Guess it would depend on the wheel. Like you said just don’t want to...

    Wheel stud lenght needed?

Since I have my front hubs apart I’m replacing the 20+ year old rotors along with the wheel studs. I plan on upgrading from the stock wheel to some aftermarket ones. Don’t know which ones yet. I’ve read on some places that the stock lugs are not long enough 1.750 length. I’ve found some that...

    Differential Carrier change?

Thanks for the reply I wouldn’t think you could run different gears from front to rear. Am I wrong?

    Differential Carrier change?

So I’ve been searching the inner webs all day and starting to get conflicting info. At least in my mind. I’ve read that you can run 4.56 on the stock 10 bolt carrier that had factory 3.08s in the front but on a 12 rear you have to step up to another carrier. Any different insight out there

    Differential Carrier change?

‘O yeah. Not to mention the PO let the axle seals go what seems like 20yrs ago so there a little surface rust on the carrier and the gear oil was thicker than molasses in winter.

    Differential Carrier change?

Well I’m into the drivetrain part of my rebuild and fell into some disappointment. Started with the front since it’s more expensive. GM Corporate 10 bolt. ‘79 k10 that assumed had 3.73 gears in it only to find the’re 3.08. My intention is to run a 6” lift with 35s and might have gotten away...

    Rebuilding front brake calipers

Did a quick search and couldn’t find anything. Has anyone rebuilt their calipers? Only reason I ask is I could get a reman for $30 or rebuild it myself for $8. Any tips? Thanks
